External perception of discrimination and/or disadvantage and the reasons for it compared over time
The dataset documents the external perception of discrimination and disadvantage among sport-interested respondents in two survey waves (2023 and 2025). Beyond the overall prevalence, the data break down perceived discrimination by ten specific reasons, enabling a direct year-on-year comparison across both dimensions.
The share of respondents who report having observed discrimination directed at others holds steady at 56% in both 2023 and 2025. Within the reasons for perceived discrimination, the picture shifts considerably between the two waves. Ethnic origin and mentality rises from 30% to 54%, the largest absolute increase across all categories. Social origin moves from 22% to 39%, and physical ability from 19% to 36%. Gender and gender identity climbs from 16% to 33%. At the lower end of the ranking, worldview and opinion doubles from 9% to 20%, while other reasons remain at 3% and 5% respectively.
