Change in interest in selected soccer competitions over time

The dataset tracks self-reported changes in interest in six soccer competitions among soccer-interested respondents in Germany, measured at two points in time: September/October 2024 and April 2025. For each competition, respondents indicate whether their interest has increased, remained the same, or decreased.

The Bundesliga records the highest share of increased interest at both points: 38% in September 2024 and unchanged at 38% in April 2025. World Cup/Euro Qualifiers drop from 37% increased in 2024 to 30% in April 2025, while the share reporting decreased interest rises from 9% to 13%. The UEFA Champions League moves in the opposite direction, with increased interest climbing from 32% to 35%. The DFB-Pokal shows a similar upward shift: from 29% to 32% in the "increased" category. The UEFA Nations League records the highest combined "decreased" share across both waves, holding at 15% at both measurement points.
