Current ownership and future usage intentions of mobile providers among soccer fans over time

The dataset tracks current mobile provider contracts and future contract intentions among soccer fans in Germany across two survey waves (May 2024 and February 2025). Both dimensions — actual provider ownership and openness to a next contract — are recorded for 15 named providers plus regional and other categories.

Among current providers, Deutsche Telekom rises from 18% to 29% between May 2024 and February 2025, placing it first in the later wave. Vodafone moves from 18% to 26%, while O2 (Telefonica) goes from 20% to 24%. For future contract intentions, Deutsche Telekom leads in February 2025 at 31%, up from 29%. Vodafone holds steady at 26% across both waves. Smaller providers show shifts as well: congstar doubles from 7% to 14% in current ownership, while SIMon mobile grows from 0% to 5% in current contracts and reaches 6% in future intentions by February 2025.
