Diversity ranking of Bundesliga clubs from the fans' perspective in the 2022/2023 season

The dataset documents which Bundesliga club soccer fans in Germany associate most with diversity, based on a survey conducted in February 2023. Respondents selected one club from all 18 Bundesliga teams after receiving a definition of diversity based on the Diversity Charter. The ranking covers all clubs from the 2022/23 season.

FC Bayern Munich leads the ranking at 17.6%, followed by Borussia Dortmund at 11.3%. Both clubs are separated from the rest of the field by a visible gap. Third-placed 1. FC Köln reaches 7.1%. From SC Freiburg onward, the values compress: Freiburg, Eintracht Frankfurt, and 1. FC Union Berlin each fall between 3.9% and 4.2%. The bottom of the ranking is occupied by TSG Hoffenheim at 0.7% and FC Augsburg at 0.8%. A substantial share of respondents — 31.5% — stated they could not judge or did not know which club best represents diversity.
