Purchasing from selected sporting goods retailers involved in sports
The chart documents purchasing behavior among sports-interested respondents in Germany (July 2022), showing which sporting goods retailers they have bought from. Results are broken down by gender and age group, comparing male, female, 16–24-year-olds, and 50+ respondents against the overall sample.
Intersport leads across all subgroups at 73% overall, with minimal variation between male (73%), female (74%), and younger respondents (73%). SportScheck shows a pronounced gender gap: 62% among women versus 53% among men. Decathlon and Karstadt Sports both sit at 55% and 53% overall, respectively, with Karstadt Sports recording a lower share among 16–24-year-olds (30%) compared to best agers (54%). JD Sports displays the sharpest age contrast in the dataset: 47% among 16–24-year-olds versus 5% among the 50+ group. Sport 2000 and Sportarena each reach 26% and 25% overall, with Sportarena showing slightly higher penetration among young respondents (29%) than best agers (16%).
