Evaluation of the contribution of stakeholders to strengthening diversity in sport
The chart documents which stakeholders sports-interested respondents in Germany (February 2023) consider the greatest contributors to diversity and variety in sport. The ranking covers ten stakeholder groups, from sports clubs to officials.
Sports clubs lead the ranking at 20%, followed closely by athletes at 19%. Sports associations rank third at 13%. Below these three, a cluster of stakeholders sits in the 8%–10% range: sports facilities (10%), trainers and coaches (9%), companies and brands (9%), and independent organizations (8%). Initiatives and NGOs reach 6%, while sports officials receive the lowest attributed share at 5%. The share with no indication stands at 8%, placing it on a par with independent organizations in the ranking. Companies and brands, at 9%, are rated on the same level as trainers and coaches — and below sports facilities at 10%.
