Changes in the willingness to take children to the stadium in a country comparison
The chart documents self-reported changes in the willingness of football fans to take children under 18 to the stadium, comparing Germany and England (survey date: December 2023). Respondents indicated whether their willingness had decreased, stayed the same, or increased.
In both countries, the majority report no change: 54% in Germany and 55% in England. Among those reporting a decrease, Germany shows higher shares than England: 15% report a decrease significantly versus 9% in England, and 22% report a slight decrease versus 18% in England. Combined, 37% of German respondents report some decrease, compared to 27% in England. On the other side, England records a higher share reporting an increase: 14% report a slight increase versus 6% in Germany. The share reporting a strong increase is 4% in England and 3% in Germany.
