Safety perception of stadium visitors at soccer matches in a country comparison
The chart documents how soccer fans in Germany and England assess their personal safety when attending matches in the stadium. The comparison covers two national audiences surveyed in December 2023, with responses split across four levels from "very safe" to "not safe at all."
In England, 54% of respondents report feeling "very safe" at stadium visits. In Germany, that share stands at 42%. The "rather safe" category shows the reverse pattern: 51% in Germany versus 42% in England. Combined, the two positive categories cover 93% of German respondents and 96% of English respondents. On the negative end, 7% of German fans choose "rather unsafe" compared to 4% in England. The "not safe at all" response reaches 1% in Germany and 0% in England.
