Comparison of the appeal of two event titles using the example of triathlon
The dataset documents spontaneous appeal of two triathlon event titles — the German Triathlon Championships and Challenge Roth — across three audience segments in Germany (July 2025): sports-interested respondents overall, Gen Z, and Best Agers 55+.
Among all sports-interested respondents, the German Triathlon Championships registers 66% spontaneous appeal, compared to 21% for Challenge Roth. The gap between the two titles widens considerably by age group. Best Agers 55+ favor the German Triathlon Championships at 74%, while only 13% choose Challenge Roth. Gen Z presents a different distribution: the German Triathlon Championships scores 54% in this group, and Challenge Roth reaches 29% — its highest share across all three segments. Undecided responses range from 12% among all sports-interested respondents to 17% among Gen Z.
