Role of sport as a driver for diversity and variety in society
The chart documents the extent to which sports-interested respondents attribute a role to sport in fostering diversity and variety in society. The data are drawn from a survey conducted in February 2023 and capture four response categories ranging from clear agreement to clear rejection.
The combined affirming responses cover the large majority of the sample. 46% answer "Yes" — sport can make a difference for diversity in society. A further 43% answer "Rather yes", bringing the sum of both affirming categories to 89%. The rejecting share remains comparatively small: 7% answer "Rather no" and 4% answer "No", adding up to 11% in total. The share expressing a clear negative position thus amounts to less than half the share expressing clear agreement.
