Employment status of people interested in sports by gender
The chart documents the employment status of sports-interested people surveyed in early 2023, broken down by gender. Three categories are covered: full-time employment, part-time employment, and non-employment. The gender split allows a direct comparison between female and male respondents within the sports-interested group.
Across all sports-interested respondents, 54% work full time and 15% part time; 31% are non-employed. The gender breakdown reveals a wide gap in full-time employment: 71% of male respondents work full time, compared to 38% of female respondents. Part-time employment runs in the opposite direction — 24% among women versus 5% among men. The non-employed share stands at 38% for women and 24% for men.
